Swansea and West Wales CII Presidents Charity 2025/26

My Story
As President of the Insurance Institute of Swansea and West Wales, I’m proud to be supporting Joseph's Smile across my two year term — Joseph's Smile was founded in August 2022 in loving memory of three-year-old Joseph Yeandle, who passed away from neuroblastoma. Born from personal experience, the charity's mission is to support families facing a similar journey - so they can focus on what truly matters: precious time with their child.
Every initiative comes from the heart, shaped by personal experience. Joseph's Smile operates in four key areas:
1. Financial Support for Families
Joseph's Smile provides grants to help families access life-saving treatments, essential medical equipment, and travel costs not covered by the NHS. By collaborating with other charities, they ease the financial strain so parents can devote their energy to what truly matters - their child.
2. Wiggly Vests
Designed by Joseph's mother, Katy, the Wiggly Vest was created with him in mind - a vest to keep a child's Hickman line safe and secure during cancer treatment. Now, in his memory, Joseph's Smile provides these specially designed vests to children across the UK, giving them the freedom to play safely while offering parents peace of mind. A small yet powerful way to make treatment a little easier.
3. Funding Research for a Cure
Joseph's Smile partners with leading childhood cancer research charities to fund groundbreaking studies and clinical trials. By supporting research that improves survival rates, develops gentler treatments, and brings us closer to a cure, they bring hope to children and families facing this devastating disease.
4. Bells for Heaven
Losing Joseph was beyond heartbreaking, but his legacy - and the memory of every child taken too soon - lives on through the Bells for Heaven campaign. At midday on Christmas Eve, families across the UK ring a bell in remembrance, creating a moment of love, unity, and reflection. No family should grieve alone, and Joseph's Smile ensures every child's name and story continues.
